Hyperlipidaemia

Hyperlipidaemia is a condition describing a high fat level in the blood. It can be a disease or secondary to other problems such as pancreatic disease, diabetes, thyroid disease and liver and kidney disorders. Dietary management is important to avoid acute pancreatitis, seizures and nervous problems associated with high blood fat. Supplementing with fatty acids ironically can improve the condition, but this should be done under the supervision of a veterinarian.
