‘Extinct’ frog found in Southern Tablelands

A “thriving community” of yellow-spotted Bell Frogs, thought to be extinct for over 30 years, has been discovered in the NSW Southern Tablelands.

“I’m advised that finding this frog is as significant a discovery as a Tasmanian tiger,” NSW Environment Minister Frank Sartor is quoted as saying on the BBC’s website.

“This discovery is a reminder of the need to protect this environment so future generations can enjoy the noise and colour of our native animals.”
